Dhamtari: The fragrance of Govind’s colorful roses is spreading in the state as well as other states
Rose is called the king of flowers, this is the reason why rose flower is liked the most all over the world. Rose petals have antibacterial properties and it helps in drying pimples. Along with this, this flower is also used for worshiping God, many skin allergies and indigenous treatments. This is the reason why Shri Govind Chandrakar, a farmer of village Rakhi of Kurud development block of the district, decided to do gardening of rose flowers. For this, he took guidance from the Horticulture Department and built a natural ventilated poly house in his two and a half acre area under the National Horticulture Board Scheme.
Govind Chandrakar says that he has been cultivating roses through the drip method for the last three years, which not only saves water but also saves water. He prepared 9 lakh rose sticks from his two and a half acre land and sold them in the state and other states, which earned him an income of Rs 16 lakh. Govind Chandrakar happily says that he is earning a net income of Rs 4 lakh per acre from roses. His roses are spreading their fragrance in other states as well.
