International Paragliding Accuracy Championship and Air Sports Festival 2024 Concludes at Serchhip Zawlpui
The closing ceremony of the International Paragliding Accuracy Championship and Air Sports Festival 2024 was held this afternoon at Serchhip Zawlpui. Hon’ble Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii attended as the Guest of Honour.

Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma praised the athletes for their determination and dedication, emphasizing Mizoram’s potential to become a premier destination for adventure tourism. He highlighted Serchhip town’s natural beauty, calling it one of India’s finest locations for paragliding and adventure sports. The Chief Minister also commended the efforts of local Mizo pilots and expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the Mizoram Government, MASA, FAI, and the people of Serchhip in making the championship a resounding success.

Tourism Minister Pi Lalrinpuii extended her gratitude to the Organizing Committee, the Tourism Department, MASA, and the citizens of Serchhip for their contributions. She acknowledged the Chief Minister’s leadership, remarking that Mizoram is fortunate to have a leader deeply committed to promoting adventure tourism. She also thanked the international participants, encouraging them to cherish their memories of Mizoram as they return home.
The championship featured 30 athletes from six countries—India, Korea, Kazakhstan, Spain, Indonesia, and Nepal.

Each winner received Rs 2,00,000, while second and third-place winners were awarded Rs 1,50,000 and Rs 1,00,000, respectively.
The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr. Lalrozama, IAS, Secretary of Tourism, Mr. Paul L. Khuma, Deputy Commissioner, Serchhip, Mr. Fari Botol, Meet Director, FAI, and Mr. J. Vanlalliana, President, MASA. Representatives from the Aeronautical Federation International (FAI), the Aero Club of India, and the Mizoram Aero Sports Association were also present.
