SAI, in Collaboration with Sports & Youth Services Department and Mizoram Cycling Association, Launches ‘Fit India Cycling Tuesday Campaign’ in Mizoram
As part of the Fit India Movement, the ‘Fit India Cycling Tuesday Campaign’ was officially launched today by Hon’ble Union Sports Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya in New Delhi. The campaign is being organized simultaneously across all States and Union Territories.

In Mizoram, the campaign was launched in Aizawl and Thenzawl through the joint efforts of the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Sports & Youth Services (SYS) Department, Government of Mizoram, and the Mizoram Cycling Association.
A brief function was held to mark the launch, chaired by Pi Elizabeth Lalnunmawii Colney, Centre Incharge, SAI STC, Aizawl. In her address, she welcomed the gathering and emphasized the key objectives of the campaign—“Fitter India, mitigating pollution, and contributing to a Green Fit India.”
Approximately 70 participants, including cyclists and officials, assembled in front of Vanapa Hall from 6:30 A.M. to 7:00 A.M. During the event, Pu Lianminthang, Regional Director, SAI, led the group in taking a pledge to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.
The Mizoram chapter of the campaign was officially flagged off by Pu Lalramsanga Sailo, IRS, Secretary, Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Mizoram, at Vanapa Hall. Around 30 cyclists from the Mizoram Cycling Association participated in the ride, covering a route of approximately 5 kilometers, starting from Vanapa Hall, proceeding to Zarkawt and Chanmari, and returning to Vanapa Hall.
The event was attended by Dr. Franklin Lalrinngheta, President of Mizoram Cycling Association, along with officials from the association, representatives of the Sports & Youth Services Department, SAI coaches, and other officials.
