Revenue Offices to be Modeled After Passport Offices – Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule

Nagpur : The common people have entrusted us with great responsibility. Often, they need to visit various government offices for even the simplest matters, many of which pertain to the Revenue Department. Considering this, the public expects responsible and prompt administration from the talathi offices in rural areas to the divisional commissioner’s offices. Administrative systems must streamline their working methods to fulfill their responsibilities in a timely manner. The government will provide the necessary resources to achieve this, stated Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.

After assuming the charge of Revenue Minister, he reviewed government schemes at the Nagpur Divisional Commissioner’s office today. Divisional Commissioner Vijayalakshmi Bidri gave a presentation on the current status of various schemes implemented by the Revenue Department. Additional Revenue Commissioner Dr. Madhavi Khode, Additional Commissioners Pradeep Kulkarni and Rajalakshmi Shah, Deputy Commissioners Dr. Kamalkishor Futane, Vivek Ilme, Manoj Shah, Anil Gotmare, Anil Bansod, Deputy Director of Land Records Vishnu Shinde, Regional Inquiry Officer Dipali Motiele, and other departmental heads were present.

The minister emphasized the need for adequate manpower for a responsive administration. He assured that efforts will be made to balance staff shortages in departments and that no transfers will be made to convenient locations by bypassing government rules. Speaking after the meeting, he stated that affordable sand should be made available to the poor for housing schemes like the Gharkul Yojana. The committee report on sand pricing, submitted at the divisional commissioner level, will lead to a policy decision soon.

Every government employee is the face of the administration, and it is their duty to implement welfare schemes with commitment and diligence, he added.

The government is committed to ensuring housing for all under its schemes. The benefits of government housing schemes should be accessible to everyone. Under a pilot project in Nagpur, a joint agreement between NMRDA, Mahagenco, and banks will be initiated to implement a housing scheme for contract workers in Mahadula, he announced. The minister also visited the district collector’s office for a review, where he was welcomed with a bouquet by District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar.
