Efforts Should Be Made to Prevent Farmer Suicides through Awareness Campaigns via Kirtans and Discourses – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Thane : The government will soon reorganize the task force set up for the welfare of farmers. Various saints and great personalities work for social awareness in this state. In regions of the state where the rate of farmer suicides is high, awareness efforts should be made through kirtans and discourses. We should make efforts to bring positive thoughts into the minds of farmers and inspire a change in their thinking. The government will provide full support for this cause, said Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today.

He was speaking at the Shri Malangad Harinam Week – Akhand Harinam Week ceremony held at Usatane – Narhen Phata, Taloja MIDC Road in Ambernath Taluka, Thane district.

On this occasion, Member of Parliament Dr. Shrikant Shinde, MLAs Kisan Kathore, Ganpat Gaikwad, Dr. Balaji Kinikar, former minister and senior leader Jagannath Patil, District Collector Ashok Shingare, Acharya Pralhad Maharaj Shastri, Vishwanath Maharaj Mhalunge, Chetan Maharaj Mhatre, Digambar Shivnarayan, Vishnu Mangrurkar, Ganpat Sangu Deshekar, Gopal Chetan, Shankar Gaikar, Dinesh Deshmukh, Ganesh Pir were present.

Chief Minister Shinde said that seeing the presence of the Warkari devotees, the atmosphere felt like the arrival of Pandharpur. In this atmosphere, while participating in the ring and Dindi with a hand-held tambourine, it became easy to forget the physical form. “Standing at the door of God for a moment…!” This sentiment was felt, and it seemed like we all were standing at God’s door. This spiritual power, filled with the Akhand Harinam, makes one forget everything. Even for people like us working in the field of politics, the inspiration from saints and great personalities generates the enthusiasm to work for the country and society. The thought of “What did I gain?” turns into “What can I give to the country and society?”. This is why spiritual foundation is superior to political foundation.

Maharashtra has been blessed with the guidance of saints and the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Honoring saints is our culture. Shri Kshetra Malangad and the ancient Shiv temple in this land are places of devotion. The Warkari sect, which has the glory of Marathi culture, teaches devotion to God while fulfilling all the responsibilities of life. It creates social awareness through kirtans and discourses. The importance of kirtan leaders in Maharashtra is immense. Dharmveer Anand Dighe would attend every Harinam session. Despite the busy life, he would find time for Harinam and encourage us as well. The Akhand Harinam Week is necessary for staying on the right path.

Chief Minister Shinde stated that India is a country of youth. It is a matter of satisfaction that the youth have the determination to do something good for the progress of the country and society. The balance between faith and superstition is always evident in Maharashtra. The response from today’s Harinam Week shows that today’s youth is committed to protecting God, the country, and religion. The dream of Hindurashtra Samrat Balasaheb to build the Ram Mandir will be fulfilled on January 22. For this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves our gratitude. Everyone should participate in this grand event on that day.

The government is carrying out the renovation of all ancient temples in the state. The development of pilgrimage centers is underway. Member of Parliament Dr. Shrikant Shinde has secured Rs. 138 crore for the renovation of the ancient Shiv temple at Ambernath. Similarly, the government will ensure that no funds are lacking for the development of the Pandharpur pilgrimage center. During the Ashadhi and Kartiki Ekadashi, the government is providing all necessary facilities to the devotees going for the pilgrimage, and in the future, more facilities will be provided. A decision has been made by the government to celebrate Shivpratap Din, and many such initiatives will be undertaken by the government in the future.
