Accident in Karni Kripa Private Limited, action taken on security lapses after investigation

Labourer Mr. Abhishek Barman died in an accident that took place on January 2 at Karni Kripa Private Limited located at Kauwajhar in Mahasamund. On the instructions of Collector Mr. Vinay Kumar Langeh, the labour officer and the team of Industrial Health and Safety Department inspected the accident site.

The investigation found that there were serious flaws in the safety measures. Legal action has been initiated by issuing notice to the contractor. Also, the construction work of ‘site batching plant’ and ‘bed filter’ has been banned till the safety measures are completed. Assistance will be provided to Mr. Burman’s family as per rules. The Collector has directed all industrial establishments to strictly follow labor and safety laws.
