Maoist terror is shrinking from Bastar, identity of Bastar is changing – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai
This year when I was reading newspapers in the new year, Bastar was in the headlines on the front page of the newspapers. These headlines were not about any Maoist violence, these headlines were about the light of development reaching Bastar. Maoist terror has now vanished from Bastar. The identity of Bastar has now changed. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said this while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Bastar District Journalists Association. He said that Bastar has its own challenges and doing journalism in this challenging environment is also a challenging task. I salute all of you for presenting the hopes, thoughts and problems of the common people of Bastar before the government and administration by becoming a mirror of their efforts.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that as the fourth pillar of democracy, by following the high ideals of journalism, the people should be informed about the good work of the government and also the shortcomings. Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap said that the journalists of Bastar have played an important role in establishing new dimensions of journalism.
In the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai administered oath to the newly elected office bearers of Bastar District Journalist Association and congratulated and wished the office bearers for the new responsibility as well as for the New Year. In the program, President of Bastar District Journalist Association Shri Manish Gupta gave the welcome address. On this occasion, Sports Minister Shri Tankaram Verma along with a large number of journalists were present.
