The Jain Community’s Unique Contribution to the Nation’s Economic Growth Journey: CM Devendra Fadnavis
Nagpur : The Jain community not only focuses on strengthening the economy but also contemplates what it can give back to society. With this sense of social responsibility, the Jain community holds a significant share in the country’s Gross National Income and has made an exceptional contribution to India’s economic growth journey, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here today.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the event organized by the Nagpur Chapter of the Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) to inaugurate the new management committee and administer the oath to the women’s and youth wings. The ceremony was held at Naivedhyam Estoria in Surya Nagar. Former MP Ajay Sancheti, JITO Apex President Vijay Bhandari, Secretary-General Lalit Dangi, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that through the JITO organization, efforts are being made to not only strengthen the economy but also contribute to social service. The Jain organizations ensure that assistance reaches the needy. Lord Mahavir has taught us to think inclusively, and it is necessary to take this teaching forward, he added.
“There is no greater patriotism than creating wealth, jobs, and opportunities. Today, we are the fifth-largest economy. I am confident that within three years, we will become the third-largest economy in the world,” the Chief Minister expressed.
Fadnavis further stated, “If we want to lift citizens out of poverty, we need to create as many opportunities as possible. Looking at developed countries worldwide, we see that women’s contribution to their development is significant. Women, who constitute 50% of the population, need to become an integral part of the economy. If India aims to become a developed economy by 2047, we must strive to provide more opportunities for women and bring them into the mainstream of development.”
