Land irrigated through Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana is being implemented in the villages. In this sequence, due to the implementation of this scheme in village Pachira of Surajpur block of Surajpur district, today 15 farmers are taking more than one crop in their fields in a year. Along with this, they are also cultivating vegetables. Due to which not only their income has increased but they have also become financially stronger.

It is worth noting that despite 15 farmers having land in the village situated on the banks of the Rehan river, their land was not being irrigated. Due to the lack of electricity line near the agricultural land of the farmers, irrigation was not possible here and the farmers were able to cultivate paddy only during the rainy season.

Under the Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana of the Electricity Department, the work of pump electrification was done in this area. Under this scheme, a discount of Rs 1 lakh is provided in the cost incurred for extension of electricity line for each farmer. Under this scheme, 15 farmers submitted applications in the Surajpur office of the Electricity Department, after which the department promptly conducted a survey and completed the work of extension of electricity line, which included extension of 650 m 11 KV line, 1 no. 63 KVA transformer and 1200 m LT line.
Presently, the fields of all the farmers on the banks of the Rehan river are electrified and all the farmers have been provided with irrigation facilities throughout the year. The farmers of the area are very happy with the implementation of this scheme.
