Honoring Rashbehari Bose: Chandannagore Pays Tribute to the Visionary Revolutionist

It was on this day in 1945 –Just two an half years prior to the attainment of the much soughted Independence, the great freedom fighter, a visionary revolutionist

Rashbehari Bose breathed his last at Hongō Bunkyo in Tokyo, Japan. Our national history doesn’t bespeak much about this great son, and the historians have been demonstrative to be taciturn while penning the deeds of this “tenrai – meaning heavenly being”, as he was fondly dubbed by the “Tenjiku – educated Japanese”.

The coasted Chandannagarian community celebrates this day with Overpowering gaiety under the aegis of Rashbehari Research Institute, the brainchild of one of the greatest mountaineers Mr. Kalyan Chakrabortty.

Mr. Chakrabortty was vivid in narrating the Institutes achievement in collecting the Never-Before essentials in the 77 years of Indian Independence, greatly attributed to the unprecedented cooperation by the Tenjikus. The attendees were closemouthed spellbound when Mr. Chakrabortty informed that it was the prescient mind of Rashbehari Bose who had envisaged the methodologies of garnering funds from the ruling Britishers along-with certain fellow revolutionaries.

The days cultural extravaganza created an immersive experience for everyone involved with the literary narratives, of Mr. Vijay Patel – eminent Indian scholar & ardent admirer of Rashbehari Bose, containing elements of sanatani pantomime, characterised by freedom of style and structure. As a fact of sheer respect to the hard works carried out by Rashbehari Research Institute, he handed over a niche metal crafted replica of Rashbehari Bose to Mr. Kalyan Chakrabortty.
