Pre-Budget Discussion with Representatives of NGOs, Civil Societies, and Consumer Forums: “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” is Our Goal – CM Shri Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the significant role of NGOs, civil societies, and consumer forums in building a strong and prosperous society. He highlighted their profound impact on the community and their role in bringing government schemes closer to the people. Shri Sharma assured that the state government would incorporate the needs of every section of society in the budget, integrating suggestions as much as possible to further the resolve of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with All, Development for All).

Addressing a pre-budget discussion with representatives from NGOs, civil societies, and consumer forums at the Chief Minister’s office on Wednesday, Shri Sharma stated that these organizations are experts in their respective fields, and their experiences should benefit the public. He reiterated that the state government is working on the principles of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, focusing on “Antyodaya,” ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach the last person in the line, helping them join the mainstream of society.

Rural Development: The Foundation of State Prosperity

The Chief Minister underscored the importance of rural development as a crucial link to the state’s prosperity. He highlighted the government’s efforts to uplift villages, including increasing MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) workdays from 20 crore to 27 crore. Over 24 crore workdays of employment have already been provided, with nearly all labor payments being made within 15 days.

Women Empowerment Initiatives

Shri Sharma stated that the state government is continuously working towards women’s empowerment. Under the Rajeevika scheme, over 20,000 self-help groups have been formed, and more than 14 lakh women have received skill training through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana. The government is also assisting these women in marketing their products. Furthermore, the Chief Minister mentioned the approval of over 1.55 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to address housing challenges in rural areas. Special initiatives in Baran district under the Tribal Justice Campaign have also led to the approval of over 17,000 houses for the Sahariya tribal community.

Suggestions from Participants

During the meeting, representatives from NGOs, civil societies, and consumer forums presented various suggestions, including:

  • Establishing self-employment centers.
  • Opening de-addiction centers.
  • Preventing silicosis disease.
  • Promoting government schemes in villages.
  • Conducting child protection awareness programs.
  • Supporting nomadic communities.
  • Addressing child labor.
  • Setting up sports complexes for differently-abled individuals.
  • Raising mental health awareness.
  • Introducing a gender-sensitive budget.
  • Establishing a research center for consumer care.
  • Forming a board for migrant workers.
  • Building rehabilitation homes for differently-abled individuals.

Representatives from organizations like Apna Ghar Ashram, Umang, Seva Bharati, Naya Savera, Bhagwan Mahavir Child Care, Alakh Foundation, Prayas Sansthan, Save the Children, Akshay Patra Foundation, and Nomadic Caste Upliftment Trust also shared their views.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari, Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Madan Dilawar, Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Avinash Gehlot, Panchayati Raj State Minister Shri Otaram Devasi, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Shri Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary (CMO) Shri Alok Gupta, and other officials.
