Serchhip Bawrhsapin Serchhip District Football Championship 2025 Concludes Successfully

The closing ceremony of the Serchhip District Football Championship 2025, organized by the Serchhip District Football Association (SDFA), was held today at the Sports Complex, Serchhip. The event was graced by Serchhip Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pu Paul L. Khuma as the chief guest.

In his address, Bawrhsap Pu Paul L. Khuma expressed his gratitude for the successful and well-organized championship, which took place without any challenges or difficulties. He encouraged all participating players to continue their passion for football and maintain discipline and dedication in their sporting journey. He emphasized the importance of making the best use of their time and talents, urging them to uphold values of perseverance and sportsmanship while staying away from harmful influences. Additionally, he advised the players to always be considerate and respectful towards others. The finalist teams were honored with words of appreciation, and prizes were distributed.

As a token of encouragement, the chief guest presented ₹10,000 to the SDFA.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Pu Zomuana Hnamte, President of the SDFA. He announced that the champion team of this tournament would represent Serchhip District in the MFA Cup, scheduled to be held in Champhai in March. In his speech, Serchhip DC also assured continued support for the improvement and maintenance of the Sports Complex.

The final match witnessed an exciting contest between Thanzuala FC, Thenzawl, and Hmar Veng FC, Serchhip, with Thanzuala FC emerging as the champions.

A total of nine teams participated in the Serchhip District Football Championship, including six teams from the DFA First Division and three teams from Zone FA. The champion team, Thanzuala FC, received a trophy along with a cash prize of ₹20,000, while the runners-up were awarded ₹10,000.
