Military Officers Meet CM, Call Their Chhattisgarh Visit Unforgettable

Officers Witness Chhattisgarh’s Journey from Naxal Eradication to Smart Cities

Impressed by the State’s Cultural Heritage and Welfare Initiatives

Raipur : A delegation of 18 military and civil service officers from the National Defence College met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence today after their visit to Chhattisgarh. Sharing their experiences, they expressed their admiration for the state’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and biodiversity. The Chief Minister engaged in an insightful discussion with them about their visit.

Welcoming the officers, CM Sai elaborated on Chhattisgarh’s geographical uniqueness, cultural heritage, and development journey. He emphasized that the state is not only geographically rich but also holds immense historical and cultural significance. He noted that 44% of Chhattisgarh is covered with forests and that the tribal communities form an integral part of its heritage. “The beauty of Chhattisgarh is unparalleled. Your visit is not just about scenic landscapes but a journey through a living culture and history, an experience that will remain etched in your memories,” he said.

Progress in Naxal Eradication and Development

The CM detailed Chhattisgarh’s achievements in tackling Naxalism, highlighting how the state has made significant progress not just in security but also in education, infrastructure, and economic opportunities. “Our approach focuses on holistic development, ensuring that industrial and urban progress goes hand in hand with the upliftment of rural and tribal communities. Our government is committed to making Chhattisgarh a model of self-reliance, innovation, and good governance,” he added.

The visiting officers shared insights from their tour, which included visits to IIM Raipur, the Integrated Command Control Centre, the Greenfield City, and Smart City projects. They also interacted with the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police on law enforcement and anti-Naxal strategies. Their itinerary covered historical and cultural sites such as Sirpur, Education City Dantewada, Kanker Wood Art Center, Jungle Warfare College, and the famed Chitrakote Waterfall.

International Delegation Gains Insights

Leading the delegation, Admiral Sandeep Singh Sandhu explained that the National Defence College runs a one-year course on strategic studies for military and civil officers, including international defense personnel. This year, 124 officers, including 13 from India and five from other countries, visited Chhattisgarh to study its cultural and administrative framework.

Present at the meeting were the CM’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand Jha, and other senior officials. The delegation also included military officers from Sri Lanka, Morocco, Nigeria, Nepal, and the UAE.
