Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva Celebrates Victory Over AAP
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva expressed his satisfaction as the BJP surpassed the majority mark in the Delhi Assembly election results. He stated that the people of Delhi had chosen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s model of good governance over Arvind Kejriwal’s administration, which he criticized for issues like contaminated water and poor sanitation.
Sachdeva pointed out that key AAP leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi, and Saurabh Bharadwaj, were trailing in the results. He attributed their potential defeat to public disillusionment and allegations of corruption, emphasizing that the BJP’s success reflected the people’s desire for transparent and efficient governance.
According to the Election Commission of India’s early trends, BJP is leading on 45 seats, while AAP is ahead on 25 seats. The majority mark required to form the government is 36 seats. Notably, BJP’s Parvesh Verma is leading against Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi Assembly seat, while other BJP candidates are performing strongly in key constituencies.
The election for the 70-member Delhi Assembly took place on February 5, with a voter turnout of 60.54%. As counting progresses, BJP looks set for a decisive victory over AAP.
