Minority-Dominated Schools in Mumbai Suburban District Invited to Apply for Grants

Mumbai : Minority-dominated schools in Mumbai Suburban District seeking grants for the year 2024-25 are invited to submit their proposals to the District Collector’s Office by February 22, 2025.

The “Grant Scheme for Providing Infrastructure Facilities in Government-Recognized Private Aided, Unaided, and Permanently Unaided Minority-Dominated Schools, Junior Colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), and Special Schools” is currently being implemented in the district.

The grant amount for educational institutions recognized as religious minority institutions has been increased from ₹2 lakh to ₹10 lakh. Schools wishing to avail of the grant must submit their proposals by the stipulated deadline.

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format, and only institutions that meet the eligibility criteria will be considered. To qualify, at least 70% of students in schools, junior colleges, and ITIs must belong to minority communities, while 50% of students in special schools must be from minority backgrounds. Additionally, the institutions must be government-recognized. Self-financed schools are not eligible under this scheme, as per the notification issued by the Mumbai Suburban District Collector’s Office.
