Mahakumbh Nagar : In preparation for the sacred Maha Shivaratri festival, the Yogi government has significantly strengthened healthcare services to ensure the safety of millions of devotees arriving for the Sangam Snan. Under the special directive of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, emergency medical facilities at Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital, Prayagraj, have been expanded. The number of ICU beds has been increased to 147, ensuring that pilgrims face no health-related inconveniences.

Rapid Life-Saving Services for Patients

According to Dr. Santosh Singh, Media Incharge of Motilal Nehru Medical College, the ICU capacity at SRN Hospital has been increased from 52 beds (in 2017) to 147 beds. This enhancement will play a crucial role in managing any emergency medical situations during Mahakumbh.

ICU Bed Allocation:

• Cardiology ICU: 23 beds
• Surgical ICU: 10 beds
• Pediatric ICU: 10 beds
• Neonatal ICU: 15 beds
• Obstetrics & Gynecology ICU: 8 beds
• Trauma ICU: 10 beds
• Medicine ICU: 20 beds
• Neurosurgery ICU: 10 beds
• Gastroenterology ICU: 6 beds
• Respiratory ICU: 6 beds
• Neurology ICU: 10 beds
• Additional ICU Beds: 19 (reserved for emergency needs)

To further strengthen medical security, the Trauma Care Center has been equipped with advanced medical equipment, ventilators, monitoring systems, and a dedicated emergency medical team available round the clock.
