Farmers of Jind district can register details of crop damage on Kshatipurti portal till March 10

Decision taken in the interest of farmers who suffered crop damage due to unseasonal rain on February 20

Chandigarh – The Haryana Government has taken a step in the interest of farmers and has asked them to register details of crop damage due to rain/hailstorm in Jind district on February 20 on the Kshatipurti portal. The portal will remain open till March 10.

Giving information, a government spokesperson said according to the report given by the Deputy Commissioner of Jind, crops have been damaged due to unseasonal rain on February 20 in Assan, Kharkaramji, Chabri, Nepewala, Koyal, Bahadurpur and Sandeel villages of Jind district. Farmers had requested to open the Kshatipurti portal to register information of crop damage on the portal. On their request, the government has decided that farmers of Jind district can register information about their damaged crops on the portal till March 10.

The state government has created this portal in the interest of farmers. During the previous governments, patwari and other employees who did the girdawari of the damaged crops were accused of discrimination in the assessment of loss. Understanding the real problem of the farmers, the present government created the Kshatipurti portal and also gave the farmers the facility that they can upload the information of their damaged crop themselves. This brought a lot of relief among the farmers. Now, the affected farmers can themselves register the details of their damaged crop on this portal. Through this portal, the compensation amount is deposited directly in the verified bank account of the cultivator made available on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal. By sending the amount directly to the bank account of the farmers, the government has also eliminated the role of middlemen, due to which the farmer gets the entire compensation money now.
