Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court to get new Rs 150 crore building

Lucknow : The Yogi government is taking major steps to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s judicial system, ensuring easy and effective access to justice for all. Committed to modernizing the legal framework, the government has allocated Rs 800 crore in the recently presented UP Mega Budget 2025-26 to revamp courts across the state.

This significant investment will not only enhance judicial infrastructure but also modernize court facilities, making the legal process more efficient and accessible.

Additionally, the welfare of advocates and judicial officers remains a top priority for the Yogi government, ensuring better working conditions and support for the legal fraternity.

The government is set to invest Rs 150 crore for the construction of a new building for the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. This initiative aims to ease the increasing workload and improve basic facilities, ensuring a faster and more efficient judicial process for litigants.

Furthermore, the government has prioritized the establishment of new courts in various districts, allocating Rs 120 crore to improve access to justice in rural and remote areas. This will help in expediting case resolutions locally and reduce the need for people to travel long distances for legal proceedings.

Ensuring court security is also a key focus. The government will install CCTV cameras and other security equipment in subordinate courts, with Rs 100 crore allocated for this purpose. Given recent security concerns in court premises, this move is expected to enhance safety for judicial officers, employees, and the public, strengthening confidence in the judicial system.

In addition, the government is investing Rs 352 crore to improve residential facilities for judges and judicial officers. Providing better housing will help boost morale and efficiency among judicial staff, ensuring a more effective legal system.

The welfare of lawyers is also a priority for CM Yogi Adityanath. The government will provide Rs 20 crore to the Advocate Welfare Fund Trust Committee, including Rs 5 crore as a corpus fund for young lawyers, Rs 10 crore for books and journals, and funding for the construction of advocate chambers and other essential facilities.

This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the legal community, especially young advocates, by providing them with essential resources at the start of their careers.
