Gurudarshan Mela to be Held at Giraudpuri Dham from March 4 to 6

Expanded Facilities and Tight Security Arrangements for Devotees

Raipur : The three-day Gurudarshan Mela will be held at Giraudpuri Dham from March 4 to 6, 2025. A meeting of the fair organizing committee was held in the district panchayat auditorium of Balodabazar under the chairmanship of Religious Guru Gurubal Das Saheb. The meeting focused on preparations, facilities for devotees, and security arrangements. Key attendees included Rajmata Guru Praveen Mata Ji, former Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal, Arang MLA Guru Khushwant Saheb, Rajmahants, former MLA Dr. Sanam Jangde, Collector Deepak Soni, SSP Vijay Agrawal, and other senior officials.

Religious Guru Gurubal Das Saheb emphasized that the Giraudpuri Mela, organized in honor of Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji, will be conducted peacefully with the participation of all. He urged devotees to promptly report any suspicious activities to the police. Former Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agrawal highlighted the significance of the fair as a spiritual center attracting millions of devotees. He also noted that the government has undertaken various developmental works, including the construction of a grand Jaitkham. Arang MLA Guru Khushwant Saheb stressed that committee members should actively oversee fair arrangements and ensure cleanliness after the event.

Enhanced Facilities for Devotees
Chairing the meeting, Collector Deepak Soni announced the appointment of Kasdol SDM R.R. Dubey as the fair officer. A total of 23 administrative officers will be deployed for smooth management. Drinking water facilities are being strengthened, with cleaned and refilled water tanks at the fairground, including tanks with capacities of 30 lakh, 8 lakh, and 75 thousand liters. Separate drinking water tanks have also been arranged at the temple premises, Mahraji, Chhata Pahad, and Panchkundi sites, with tankers on standby for additional supply. Health teams will be stationed at Guru Niwas and other key locations, while CHC Kasdol will remain on 24-hour alert mode with adequate medicines and ambulance services.

Sanitation measures include twice-daily cleaning in urban areas. The fairground will be divided into five sectors with ample mobile and permanent toilets. Special lighting and electricity arrangements are in place. A vending zone is being created to ensure organized stall setup.

Three-Layered Security Arrangements
SSP Vijay Agrawal informed that a three-layer security system will be implemented. Multiple CCTV cameras have been installed at key locations, monitored from the police control room. Fire tenders will be stationed at seven locations, while police patrolling teams will ensure security throughout the fairground. A wireless communication system has been set up at Chhata Pahad. Additionally, the sale of meat and alcohol in and around the fairground will be strictly prohibited.
