462 advanced machines from Mahakumbh to aid in controlling communicable diseases across the state

Lucknow / Prayagraj : Following the successful use of 462 ultramodern machines during Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to deploy them across various districts to control communicable diseases. These machines, used in municipal corporations, Nagar Panchayats, and rural areas, aim to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.

To support CM Yogi’s campaign for disease prevention, health centers will be upgraded with these advanced machines. The equipment includes 400 spray pumps—200 battery-operated and 200 manual- and 62 thermal pulse fog machines.

On CM Yogi Adityanath’s instructions, preparations are underway to upgrade health centers across the state to ensure effective control of vector-borne and waterborne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. These state-of-the-art machines will be provided to municipal corporations and councils to strengthen public health measures.

Dr. V.P. Singh, Nodal Joint Director (Vector Control) for Mahakumbh, emphasized the importance of expanding the initiative to rural areas. He stated that, in addition to urban centers, the equipment will also be provided to Gram Pradhans in various districts. This will enhance the anti-larva spraying campaign at the grassroots level, helping to curb infections from the source.

Dr Anand Kumar Singh, Assistant Nodal and DMO of Vector Control, highlighted the crucial role of thermal pulse fog machines in combating communicable diseases. He confirmed that 62 thermal pulse fog machines would be allocated to districts identified as high-risk areas. These machines will be used for fogging operations to control disease-spreading vectors effectively.

The statewide campaign will be conducted through a collaborative effort between the Health Department, municipal corporations, and Nagar Panchayats. Additionally, a special anti-larva spraying campaign will be carried out using these advanced machines to accelerate the prevention of communicable diseases in Uttar Pradesh.
