Raipur : Chhattisgarh is on the verge of an energy revolution with a massive ₹3 lakh crore investment announced at the ‘Chhattisgarh Energy Investors Summit’ in Raipur. Leading companies such as Adani, Jindal, and NTPC have pledged investments in nuclear, thermal, solar, and pumped storage power projects, ensuring not only industrial benefits but also affordable and uninterrupted power supply for the public.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that this investment will elevate the state’s energy production capacity while promoting renewable energy for a sustainable future. He emphasized that Chhattisgarh aims to become an energy hub for the entire country, ensuring self-sufficiency in power generation.

Currently, Chhattisgarh produces 30,000 MW of electricity, exceeding the national average. Every citizen now has access to 2,048 kWh of electricity, fulfilling the state’s energy demands.

Key Investments in Power Sectors

1. Nuclear Power: ₹80,000 Crore Investment for Clean Energy

NTPC has announced a ₹80,000 crore investment to set up a 4,200 MW nuclear power project, marking the beginning of nuclear energy production in Chhattisgarh.

2. Thermal Power: ₹1.07 Lakh Crore to Strengthen Power Capacity

  • Adani Power will invest ₹66,720 crore to establish three 1,600 MW thermal power plants in Korba, Raigarh, and Raipur.
  • Jindal Power will set up a 1,600 MW plant in Raigarh with ₹12,800 crore.
  • Sarda Energy will invest ₹5,300 crore for a 660 MW plant in Raigarh.
  • Government entities NTPC and CSPGCL will generate 4,500 MW at a cost of ₹41,120 crore.

3. Solar Power: ₹10,000 Crore Investment for Renewable Energy

  • Jindal Power and NTPC Green will invest ₹10,000 crore in 2,500 MW of solar power projects, including 500 MW in Dolesara and 2,000 MW in Raigarh.
  • Under the PM-KUSUM scheme, ₹4,100 crore will be spent to install 675 MW solar power projects and 20,000 solar pumps for affordable irrigation.

4. Pumped Storage Projects: ₹57,046 Crore for Energy Storage

  • SJN Kotpali will develop a 1,800 MW pumped storage project.
  • Jindal Renewable will establish a 3,000 MW project, further enhancing the state’s grid stability.

Chhattisgarh’s Path to Becoming an Energy Leader

With these investments, Chhattisgarh is set to become one of India’s top energy-producing states, benefitting industries, farmers, and the general public while strengthening the state’s economy.

  8. Government Solar Installations: ₹2,500 crore for solar adoption in government buildings.
  9. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): ₹2,600 crore to boost energy storage capacity.
  10. Power Transmission Network: ₹17,000 crore for upgrading power distribution.
  11. RDSS (Distribution Sector Scheme): ₹10,800 crore for enhancing infrastructure.

With these ambitious projects, Chhattisgarh is set to lead India’s energy sector, ensuring reliable, sustainable, and cost-effective power solutions for all.
