Gratitude Gathering for Increased Grants to Gaushalas – State Government Committed to Protection & Promotion of Cows

CM Bhajanlal Sharma Urges Citizens to Serve Cows Daily, Recognizing Their Divine Significance

Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma stated that along with the state’s holistic development, the government is dedicated to the protection and promotion of cows (Gau Mata). In the recently presented state budget, several key decisions have been made for the welfare of cows and livestock farmers. This year, the per-animal grant for Gaushalas (cow shelters) and Nandishalas has been increased by 15%, raising the amount to ₹50 per day per animal.

The Chief Minister addressed a gratitude gathering at his residence on Monday, organized to express appreciation for the grant increase. He highlighted the Gopal Credit Card Scheme, launched last year, which provides interest-free loans of up to ₹1 lakh for building sheds, purchasing fodder, and other cattle-related expenses. In the upcoming financial year, 2.5 lakh livestock-rearing families will benefit from this scheme. Additionally, to ease access to the scheme, stamp duty on necessary documents has been waived, and the process has been simplified.

‘Development and Heritage’ – A Vision Led by PM Modi

CM Sharma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, emphasizing that India is progressing in both development and heritage preservation. He described Modi as a global visionary who has guided the nation with determination and strategic planning. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Rajasthani diaspora, who have established Gaushalas worldwide, promoting cow welfare.

Economic Security for Livestock Farmers Through Insurance

Under the Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana, the number of insured animals in each category will be doubled in the next financial year. Other major initiatives include:
✅ Expansion of free veterinary care under the Livestock Health Scheme
✅ Increased milk collection targets under the Mukhyamantri Dairy Producer Support Scheme
✅ Millet (bajra) to be provided as an alternative to financial aid for cow shelters during winters
✅ Establishment of 1,000 new cooperative societies and collection centers
✅ Recruitment of 100 veterinary officers and 1,000 livestock inspectors

The Divine Significance of Cows in Indian Culture

CM Sharma emphasized the sacred status of cows in Indian traditions, comparing them to the holy Ganges, Gomati, Gita, and Govinda. He urged society to take responsibility for cow protection and to promote daily cow service through awareness campaigns.

Saints Express Gratitude to the ‘Cow-Centric’ Government

Saints present at the gathering expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his unwavering commitment to cow welfare. They noted that, unlike the previous government where cow protection required protests, this government has actively promoted Gau Seva (cow service) through its policies.

The event concluded with Gau Puja (cow worship) and blessings from revered saints. CM Sharma participated in Holika celebrations, playing Chang (a traditional drum), singing festive songs, and extending Holi greetings to all.

The gathering was attended by Mahant Dinesh Giri Maharaj, President of Rajasthan Gaushala Committee, Raghunath Bharti Maharaj, Vice President, Raghunath Singh Rajpurohit, General Secretary, along with Govind Vallabh Ji from Sripatidham, Sirohi, and numerous devoted Gau Bhakts (cow worshippers).
