Clean drinking water reaches 3,437 houses through 46,953 meter-long pipeline

Sonbhadra (Dala Bazaar) : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several initiatives are being implemented to ensure basic amenities for the citizens of Uttar Pradesh. As part of this effort, the Piped Water Scheme has successfully alleviated the water crisis in Dala Bazaar Nagar Panchayat, Sonbhadra. Through this initiative, a 46,953-meter-long pipeline has been laid at a cost of Rs 42.57 crore, providing piped water connections to 3,437 households.

For years, the residents of Dala Bazaar Nagar Panchayat in the Sonbhadra district struggled with unsafe drinking water contaminated with fluoride, arsenic, and other toxins, leading to severe health issues such as bone disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, and other waterborne illnesses.

Acknowledging the crisis, the Yogi government introduced a modern water purification system and an extensive pipeline network under the Piped Water Scheme, ensuring safe and clean drinking water for residents. The initiative now ensures a safer and healthier future.

This is how the picture changed with the government’s plan

  1. Modern water purification system

Under this scheme, intake wells, water treatment plants and clear water reservoirs were established. The supply of clean drinking water was ensured by removing contaminants using advanced techniques.

  1. Strengthening the water distribution system

By laying a pipeline of about 46,953 meters, 3,437 houses were given direct piped water connection. This made it possible to deliver pure water to every family.

  1. Clear Water Reservoir of 350 kilolitre capacity

To make water storage and distribution effective, a reservoir of 350 kilolitre capacity for clear water was constructed, ensuring supply in any emergency.

This scheme has not only ensured access to clean drinking water for the residents of Nagar Panchayat but has also eliminated the time and effort previously required to fetch water.

Women and children, in particular, have experienced significant relief, as they no longer have to travel long distances to collect water. Moreover, this initiative by the Yogi government has positively impacted public health, with a projected decline in waterborne diseases.

Additionally, the Piped Water Scheme is expected to enhance awareness among citizens regarding hygiene and health.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government remains committed to providing essential amenities to every citizen.

To address the water crisis and curb the spread of waterborne diseases, the government has implemented this scheme in Dala Bazaar as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission. This initiative will benefit the present generation and serve as a long-term solution for future generations.

The residents of Nagar Panchayat Dala Bazaar have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Yogi government for successfully executing this scheme. They recall their hardships in accessing clean water and now appreciate the convenience of having safe drinking water directly from household taps. This scheme has been a beacon of hope for them, effectively resolving the water crisis and significantly improving their quality of life.
