CM Vishnu Deo Sai Inaugurates Flight Training in Jashpur, Inspires NCC Cadets

State Government to Support Youth in Becoming Pilots with All Possible Assistance

Excited Trainees: “Our Dream is Coming True!”

Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the first-ever flight training program in Jashpur at the Aghadih airstrip, interacting with cadets of the 3 CG Air Squadron NCC, Raipur. He encouraged the cadets, listened to their experiences, and called this initiative a historic milestone for the region. He emphasized that Jashpur is now not only a center for tourism and natural beauty but also an emerging hub for aviation training.

Government’s Commitment to Career Development

CM Sai reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to providing youth with the necessary resources and opportunities for career growth in various fields, including aviation. He assured that aspiring pilots will receive full support from the government.

During the event, the Chief Minister inspected the micro-light air squadron aircraft, received technical briefings, and directed officials to organize a tour for cadets to explore Jashpur’s major tourist destinations. He also highlighted the region’s booming agriculture, particularly in cashew, tea leaves, pears, and apples, which is giving a new dimension to Jashpur’s economy.

First-Ever Flight Training in Jashpur – Opportunity for 100 Cadets

Since March 7, 2025, cadets have been receiving hands-on flight training in Jashpur. They experience takeoff, flight maneuvers, and safe landings, providing them with valuable practical exposure. This is the first time such a training program has been organized outside Raipur, generating immense enthusiasm among cadets.

Training with Twin-Seater SW-80 Aircraft

The Aghadih airstrip has a runway length of 1,200 meters and a width of 25 meters. Training is being conducted using single-engine, twin-seater Virus SW-80 aircraft, capable of reaching a maximum altitude of 20,000 feet, though flights are currently restricted to 1,000 feet for training purposes.

A Pathway to Air Force Careers

The Commanding Officer explained that cadets who achieve high grades in the NCC Air Wing ‘C’ Certificate program become eligible for direct Air Force interviews, making this training a stepping stone toward a promising future.

Cadets’ Excitement: “Our Dream of Becoming Air Force Pilots is Coming True!”

Trainee Nitesh Prajapati shared that Jashpur’s clean and scenic environment is ideal for flight training. He expressed,
“My dream is to become an Air Force pilot, and this training is a crucial step toward achieving it.”

Similarly, Pranshu Chauhan highlighted the unobstructed air traffic and clear runways in Jashpur, ensuring seamless training operations. He added,
“Training amidst nature’s beauty makes this experience truly unforgettable.”

Dignitaries in Attendance

The event was attended by Vice President of the Surguja Tribal Development Authority Gomati Sai, MLAs Raimuni Bhagat, District Panchayat President Salik Sai, Surguja Commissioner Narendra Kumar Dugga, IG Ankit Garg, Collector Rohit Vyas, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh, District Panchayat CEO Abhishek Kumar, along with several officials, public representatives, and dignitaries.
