Three-Day Training for Technical Officers on Quality Inspection of Construction Works
Raipur : To ensure the quality of construction works in the state, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment is used to assess the strength and reliability of structures without causing any damage. A three-day training program is being conducted to enhance the knowledge and operational efficiency of technical officers in using these advanced technologies. The training, which began on March 17, is being held on the first floor of Indravati Bhavan in Nava Raipur under the Chief Technical Examiner (Vigilance) and will continue until March 19.
Chief Technical Examiner Mr. R. Puram stated that the organization inspects the quality and physical progress of construction works under departments such as Public Works, Water Resources, and Public Health Engineering, and submits reports to the General Administration Department. During the training, NDT experts are providing detailed insights into the operation of advanced inspection equipment.
He explained that Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is a technique used to assess the strength, quality, and durability of construction materials and structures without causing any damage. This method is particularly used for inspecting roads, bridges, buildings, and other structures. The training covers the operation of key equipment such as Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Digital Rebound Hammer Test, Profometer Test, and Tomography. These tools help detect concrete strength, internal cracks, moisture levels, material quality, and potential structural weaknesses.
This training will enhance the understanding of modern inspection techniques among technical officers, enabling more effective quality assessment of construction projects. It will also help the organization conduct inspections with greater speed, accuracy, and reliability in the future.
