Raipur : Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal conducted an inspection of District Hospital Durg to assess the available healthcare facilities. During the visit, he reviewed various departments, including OPD, registration counter, male and female wards, pediatric ward, maternity ward, and operation theater. He also interacted with patients and their families to understand their experiences with the hospital’s medical services.
During the inspection, the Minister visited the ICU, Blood Bank, NRC, SNCU, DEIC, and Maternity Department, providing necessary directives to medical officials and doctors. He instructed that the operation theater (OT) be developed into a model OT. Additionally, he reviewed the dialysis unit, assessed the condition of the existing equipment, and directed authorities to procure advanced medical devices. He also ordered an increase in the number of dialysis units to enhance patient care.
At the end of the inspection, Minister Jaiswal reviewed the hospital’s storage facility, instructing staff to improve its organization. He appreciated the hospital’s existing services and directed the appointment of five medical officers to further strengthen healthcare delivery. He assured that the shortage of doctors and specialists in the maternity department would be addressed soon. He also inspected the pharmacy unit, reviewing the quality of medicines available for patients.
The inspection was attended by Vaishalinagar MLA Shri Rikesh Sen, Ahiwara MLA Shri Domanlal Korsewara, Durg MLA Shri Lalit Chandrakar, Gajendra Yadav, Mayor Smt. Alka Baghmar, Health Director Smt. Padmini Bhoi, Health Secretary Shri Amit Kataria, ADM Shri Arvind Ekka, SDM Shri Harvansh Singh Miri, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Durg Dr. Manoj Dani, Civil Surgeon & Deputy Superintendent Dr. Hemant Sahu, Dr. O.P. Verma, and other senior officials from the concerned departments.
