Separate Toilets for Women in Government Offices & CCTV in Every Classroom – Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore
Adequate Funding to Be Provided Through the District Planning Committee
Solapur: Guardian Minister Jaykumar Gore has directed that all government offices in the district must have separate toilets for women immediately. Additionally, CCTV cameras should be installed in every classroom of Zilla Parishad schools. Sufficient funds for these projects will be allocated through the District Planning Committee, he announced.
Minister Gore made these remarks while addressing a review meeting of various departments held at the Planning Committee Hall. The meeting was attended by MLAs Samadhan Avatade, Devendra Kothe, and Raju Khare, as well as officials including Additional District Collector Monika Singh Thakur, Municipal Commissioner Sachin Ombase, Chief Executive Officer Kuldeep Jangam, Police Commissioner M. Rajkumar, Superintendent of Police Atul Kulkarni, and several other senior officials.
Immediate Implementation of Toilets & CCTV in Schools
Minister Gore emphasized that while separate toilets have been set up in the District Collector’s and Tehsil offices under the 100-day action plan, similar arrangements must be made in all government offices at the state, district, and village levels without delay. Concerned departments should immediately submit proposals through the Public Works Department to the Planning Committee for this purpose.
Regarding CCTV installation, education officers were instructed to take the lead in ensuring that all Zilla Parishad schools have CCTV cameras in every classroom. A dedicated system should be established in the education officer’s office to monitor live footage from all schools. Adequate funding for this initiative will be provided by the Planning Committee.
Sustaining the 100-Day Action Plan for Better Governance
Minister Gore stressed that even after the 100-day action plan is completed, the administration must continue providing excellent services to the public. He also instructed that all officers—especially village-level officials like Gram Sevaks and Talathis—should adhere to their designated public interaction hours and be accessible to citizens.
He further suggested extending the online office management system, currently implemented in the District Collector’s office, to Zilla Parishads and Panchayat Samitis. Under the 2024-25 Planning Committee budget, ₹6 crore was allocated to government medical colleges and ₹7 crore to district surgeons for medicine procurement. The District Collector was directed to have the respective sub-divisional officers inspect whether these medicines have been properly utilized in hospitals and primary health centers.
District Development & Religious Tourism Projects
For the 2025-26 district annual plan, Solapur district has been sanctioned ₹934.28 crore. All government departments must submit lists of proposed projects within a month, after which no new proposals will be considered.
As part of the Pandharpur Devasthan Development Plan, ₹73.45 crore has been approved. The Department of Archaeology was instructed to complete the preservation work of the Vitthal Temple before the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage. Separate review meetings will be organized for projects related to the construction of a skywalk, a darshan mandap (viewing pavilion), and memorials of Sant Namdev Maharaj and Mahatma Basaveshwar.
Drought Management & Water Supply Arrangements
Considering the current drought situation, Minister Gore directed all relevant departments to ensure an uninterrupted water supply. If any village reports a water shortage, the concerned sub-divisional officer must conduct an immediate inspection and approve water tankers as needed. In Mohol taluka, 11 villages have already reported water scarcity, and immediate action was ordered for their relief.
Inauguration of Vehicles Procured Under the District Planning Committee
Under the 2024-25 district annual plan, 11 new vehicles have been provided to the Solapur City Police Commissioner’s office. Minister Gore inaugurated these vehicles by flagging them off at the commissioner’s office. Additionally, government vehicles allotted to the Revenue Department were also inaugurated at the Planning Committee premises.
