Etela Rajender Highlights Malkajgiri’s Civic Issues in Meeting with Minister Sridhar Babu

Hyderabad: Senior BJP leader Etela Rajender met Ranga Reddy district in-charge minister Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat on Tuesday to raise pressing civic concerns in the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency.

Etela said that Malkajgiri, once a settlement for the poor, has rapidly developed into a bustling urban area but still lacks basic infrastructure. He pointed out that several neighbourhoods are grappling with acute drinking water shortages, poor road conditions, and misuse of double-bedroom housing allocations, where the intended beneficiaries are being denied their rightful homes.

He also expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of local lakes, which have turned into polluted sewage pits. “If these issues aren’t addressed promptly, residents will continue to suffer,” he warned.

Etela alleged that after the implementation of the HYDRA system, several individuals have resorted to blackmail and extortion, especially targeting the underprivileged. He urged the minister to take strict action against such elements.

Raising the issue of smaller temples being brought under the Endowments Department, Etela said this was causing distress among the community and asked for suitable remedies. He also called for a balanced waste management strategy, demanding the establishment of dump yards in all directions of the city instead of burdening Balaji Nagar alone.

Finally, he requested immediate clearance of pending bills for contractors who have completed civic work, as many are hesitant to take up new projects due to delays in payment.

Minister Sridhar Babu responded positively, assuring necessary action.
