Etela Rajender Declares BJP as Telangana’s Future
On the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Foundation Day, Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender participated as the chief guest in the program held in the Cantonment Assembly Constituency and hoisted the saffron flag as part of the Flag Festival.
On this occasion, he said:
Greetings to all on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami.
Today, just as the celestial wedding of Sri Sita Ramachandra is being celebrated across the nation, the BJP’s Flag Festival is also being celebrated in every street and corner. On this occasion, I convey greetings to the people who have blessed BJP leaders and workers.
On Sri Rama Navami, I pray for the welfare of the nation and for human prosperity.

After India gained independence, and after the Constitution came into effect in 1950, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh was formed in October 1951 under the leadership of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Guided by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the party deeply understood Ambedkar’s constitutional vision of “development with equal distribution” and guided governments to ensure national wealth reaches the last person.
The Emergency was a dark chapter in the country’s history. While citizens languished in jails, Jayaprakash Narayan led a movement to protect democracy, leading to elections after the dark period. The Janata Party, formed with the unity of all parties, won a massive victory.
There were no televisions, social media, or cell phones then—yet from Jammu & Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the party triumphed. Leaders like George Fernandes, who was in jail, won by a margin of five lakh votes—an unforgettable history.
After the fall of the Janata Party, it split. In Mumbai, under the leadership of Vajpayee and Advani, the BJP was born with the lotus as its symbol, evolving from the lamp symbol of Jana Sangh. Five principles were laid down.
Initially, only two MPs were elected—one from Gujarat and another from Hanamkonda, Janagareddy.
Though only two won, with unshaken courage and faith that even long journeys begin with one step, our leadership worked tirelessly to expand BJP across states and the country.
Under Vajpayee’s leadership, the first BJP-led government was formed. A party committed to values, Vajpayee famously said if we fall short of majority by one MP, we will resign rather than poach MPs from other parties—a value-driven message to the people.
Today, the situation is different—managing MPs from other parties when lacking majority is common.
Vajpayee governed the nation without blemish. It was BJP that honored minorities by making the Missile Man of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the President.
Even after 27 years in Gujarat and 17 years in Madhya Pradesh, BJP continues to win. In times when some governments collapse in 10 months due to inefficiency, BJP is in power for the third consecutive term.
In 2014, BJP came to power. Without making fake promises, it was blessed by the people with 303 seats in 2019. The party became an undefeatable force.
In the past, scams like 2G, Bofors, and coal landed ministers in jail. But today, under PM Modi, not a single scam has tainted the government. The global stage now respects India’s reputation.
India was once seen as a poor country, surviving only on aid. World Bank loans, Asian Bank debt, and mortgaging gold for salaries defined a crumbling economy.
But under Modi’s leadership, India rose from the 11th to the 5th largest economy and is now in a position to offer aid to other countries—like helping Sri Lanka.
In the past, droughts in Bengal killed lakhs. Today, India is capable of feeding the hungry and helping those in need globally. Experts agree India alone now has that strength and stature.
Medical colleges, railway lines, stations, national highways—India is progressing rapidly in every field. We even built a bridge over the Ram Setu with ₹540 crore.
BJP is now the world’s largest party in terms of membership. In Telangana, with 45 lakh members, it secured 35% vote share in the last Parliament elections and won 8 seats—sending a clear message that BJP is the party that will win in the next state elections too.
Etela Rajender called upon BJP leaders and workers to work together and instill confidence in people.
Bharat Mata Ki Jai… Jai Sri Ram.
