Historic Cooperation Agreement Signed with NDDB in Presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Dr. Yadav shared that for the first time in the state’s history, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Madhya Pradesh government and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) on April 13 in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah. This agreement will directly benefit the livestock farmers of the state, as milk and related products produced by them will now be procured directly through NDDB. This is expected to significantly improve the financial condition of farmers and make them self-reliant.

Boosting Milk Production a Priority

The Chief Minister said that Shri Amit Shah has directed an increase in milk production in the state. Alongside increasing the overall output, milk collection should also be scaled up significantly. He emphasized speeding up milk collection from the remaining half of the state’s villages.

To encourage milk production, the state will provide an incentive of ₹5 per liter as a bonus, promote the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana, and undertake extensive marketing and branding of Madhya Pradesh’s milk at both the state and national levels.

Comprehensive Dairy Development Plan with NDDB

Dr. Yadav stated that a comprehensive plan for progressive dairy development in the state is being prepared in collaboration with NDDB. He directed Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Shri Lakhan Patel, to incorporate new targets based on Union Minister Shri Shah’s directives and make necessary amendments in the agreement with NDDB.

Target of 2 Crore Litres Daily Milk Production in Next 5 Years

The Chief Minister has set a target of achieving 2 crore liters of daily milk production in the next five years and instructed officials to seek guidance from NDDB in this regard. Currently, cooperative milk unions in the state collect only 10 lakh liters per day. He emphasized the need to accelerate both production and collection efforts.

Dr. Yadav expressed gratitude to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari for dedicating and laying foundation stones for 10 national highway projects in the state on April 10. The projects include foundation stones worth ₹2330 crore and inaugurations worth ₹3502 crore. He congratulated cabinet members on this development.

He shared that Shri Gadkari has announced a plan to expand the national highway network across Madhya Pradesh over the next two years. Approval has also been granted to upgrade the highways necessary for the smooth movement of pilgrims during Simhastha-2028.
