An International-Standard Creative Ecosystem to Be Developed in Third Mumbai – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Roundtable discussion held at the Global Audio-Visual Entertainment Summit at Jio World Centre
Mumbai : Mumbai is a hub of creativity, and to further strengthen Maharashtra’s global position in the media and entertainment sector, an international-standard creative ecosystem will be developed in Third Mumbai, announced Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He was speaking at a roundtable discussion on “Studios and Technology”, organized in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as part of the Global Audio-Visual Entertainment Summit held at Jio World Centre.
Present at the event were Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Vikas Kharge, Secretary of the Industries Department P. Anbalagan, CEO of MIDC P. Velarasu, Industries Commissioner Dipendrasinh Kushwaha, actor and producer Aamir Khan, FICCI’s Ashish Kulkarni, and P. Jayakumar Reddy, along with several prominent industry experts.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the state government is supportive of establishing a world-class theme park in Navi Mumbai, which will be a major step forward for the proposed Third Mumbai. Two significant MoUs have been signed with Prime Focus and Godrej, which will help provide world-class studio facilities in Mumbai.
He further announced the establishment of IICCT (Indian Institute of Creative and Communication Technology) in technical collaboration with IIT Mumbai. This institute will offer specialized courses in creative industries, providing career opportunities for the new generation. The government will also focus on creating strategic policies and the necessary infrastructure to promote e-sports.
Highlighting the ease of doing business in the entertainment sector, Fadnavis said that the process of obtaining permissions for shooting films, web series, advertisements, and other visual content has been made more transparent and simple. Now, upon registration, application submission, fee payment, and uploading required documents, approvals are granted within seven days.
The discussion saw participation from experts, entrepreneurs, startups, and representatives from the creative industries across sectors.
