Minister Pratap Sarnayak Reviews Development Works in Mira-Bhayander Municipal Region

Mumbai – Transport Minister Pratap Sarnayak reviewed various ongoing development projects in the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation area and directed the concerned authorities to expedite the works.

A review meeting was held at the Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Minister Sarnayak. The meeting was attended by Mira-Bhayander Municipal Commissioner Radhabinod Sharma and officials from the Departments of Archaeology, Transport, Revenue, Environment, and Irrigation.

Minister Sarnayak assured that the necessary funds would be made available for the development works in Mira-Bhayander. He emphasized that the projects should be carried out not only with high standards and quality but also within the stipulated timelines. He instructed the Revenue Department to submit a proposal to transfer land—currently occupied by slums but previously handed over under the BSUP (Basic Services to the Urban Poor) scheme—to the Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation for building constructions under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

During the review, Minister Sarnayak directed that the road leading to the Shivsrushti project should be initiated at the earliest. He also emphasized the need to develop the creek waterfront, clear the space for the skywalk and begin construction, acquire 18 meters of land for the Chena River Front project, and allocate the necessary funds for land acquisition for the new Municipal Headquarters.

Additionally, he reviewed projects related to the development of tourist destinations, the Shivsrushti project, and the mangrove park. Minister Sarnayak also instructed officials to grant permission for development works at the Ghodbunder Fort and surrounding areas.
