India Strikes Terror, Not Pakistan: Rajnath Singh on Operation Sindhoora

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has asserted that India’s recently launched Operation Sindhoora was aimed solely at terrorist camps and not the Pakistani state. Addressing a public event during the virtual inauguration of 50 infrastructure projects by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) across six states and two Union Territories, Singh praised the Indian Army’s precision and courage in executing the overnight operation.

“Our soldiers carried out a bold and decisive strike targeting terrorist hideouts with exceptional bravery,” Singh said. “They made it clear that while we are committed to peace, we will not hesitate to act firmly against those who threaten our national security.”

Singh clarified that no harm came to ordinary civilians during the operation, as Indian forces had carefully planned the strikes to focus only on terrorist infrastructure. The targets included nine terrorist camps reportedly involved in cross-border activities, especially the recent attack on civilians in Pahalgam.

“These strikes were not against Pakistan or its army,” the Defence Minister emphasized. “India has no quarrel with Pakistan’s people. Our problem is with terrorism and those who sponsor it.”

He went on to express deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing full operational autonomy to the armed forces, enabling swift and effective action. “The message is clear—we will not tolerate terrorism. Anyone responsible for endangering the lives of our citizens will face the consequences,” Singh stated.

He also stressed the government’s unwavering focus on strengthening infrastructure in border regions to enhance connectivity, security, and preparedness. The BRO projects inaugurated during the event are part of this broader national strategy.

Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, relations between India and Pakistan have grown tense, but India has maintained that its actions were retaliatory and carefully limited to avoid escalation. No Pakistani military facilities were targeted in the strike.
