Mock Drill on Air Raids and Disaster Preparedness Conducted at Health Bhawan; Medical Staff Trained
Jaipur : In view of potential air raids and disaster situations, a mock drill and public awareness program was conducted on Friday in the under-construction building within the Health Bhawan premises. The event was organized jointly by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Civil Defence. Around 150 officers and staff members were trained on safety measures to be adopted during such emergencies under the guidance of SDRF Commandant Shri Rajendra Singh Sisodia and supervision of Assistant Commandant Shri Chitragupt Mahawar.
Managing Director of the Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation, Smt. Neha Giri, stated that the mock drill helped employees gain valuable knowledge about essential safety measures and rescue and relief techniques required during a disaster.
Platoon Commander Shri Ravi Verma, who led the SDRF team, provided training on basic life support techniques. This included first aid for injuries, safely exiting damaged buildings during attacks or disasters, creating makeshift stretchers with available resources, and performing CPR in cases of cardiac arrest to administer artificial respiration.
The SDRF team also demonstrated a rope rescue technique during a mock drill, showing how to evacuate victims from damaged or fire-engulfed buildings. The entire awareness program and mock drill witnessed enthusiastic participation from the staff, who actively engaged in the activities and learned critical disaster response techniques.
