Mortal Remains of Martyr Surendra Kumar Consigned to the Elements – Laid to Rest with Full State Honours

Jaipur : Sergeant Surendra Kumar, who attained martyrdom during Operation Sindoor in Udhampur, was laid to rest with full state honours on Sunday in his native village Mehradasi (Mandawa), located in Jhunjhunu district.

Minister-in-Charge of Jhunjhunu, Shri Avinash Gehlot, conveyed condolences on behalf of Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma to the bereaved family and offered a floral wreath as a tribute. The final rites were conducted with military honour, and the Air Force and Police contingents presented a Guard of Honour under the leadership of Group Captain Vinay Bhardwaj from the Indian Air Force. The martyr’s son, Daksh, performed the last rites.

Several prominent leaders and dignitaries were present to pay their respects, including Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Minister for Defence Welfare and Youth Affairs Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister of Urban Development (Independent Charge) Shri Jhabar Singh Khara, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Madan Rathore, Leader of Opposition Shri Tikaram Jully, former Leader of Opposition Shri Rajendra Rathore, MP Shri Brijendra Ola, MLAs Rajendra Bhambu (Jhunjhunu), Vikram Singh Jakhal (Nawalgarh), Dharampal Gurjar (Khetri), Rita Chaudhary (Mandawa), Bhagwanaram Saini (Udaipurwati), Govind Dotasara (Laxmangarh), Hakm Ali (Fatehpur), and Shikha Meel Barala (Chomu), along with Shri Mukesh Dadhich, District Collector Shri Ramavatar Meena, SP Shri Sharad Choudhary, Zila Pramukh Harshini Kulhari, Shri Banwari Lal Saini, Nawalgarh Pradhan Dinesh Sunda, former MPs Narendra Kumar and Santosh Ahlawat, former MLAs Subhash Poonia and Shubhakaran Chaudhary, retired servicemen, public representatives, and local dignitaries.

After the funeral, Minister-in-Charge Shri Avinash Gehlot presented a cheque of ₹5 lakh to the martyr’s widow, Veerangana Seema, as financial assistance from the state government and assured continued support and help in the future.
