Maharashtra Scores a Hat-Trick of Championship Titles at Khelo India Youth Games

CM Devendra Fadnavis Congratulates Medal-Winning Athletes for Their Outstanding Performance

Mumbai – “Well done! Through your determination and perseverance, you have further elevated Maharashtra’s sporting prestige. This victory makes all of you the pride of the state,” said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as he congratulated the athletes of Team Maharashtra for achieving a hat-trick of overall championship titles at the Khelo India Youth Games.

Expressing immense happiness over the state’s stellar performance, CM Fadnavis applauded the athletes for clinching a massive total of 158 medals—58 gold, 47 silver, and 53 bronze. He also highlighted the pride in Maharashtra setting nine records during the 7th edition of the Games.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the vision behind the Khelo India initiative, launched in 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inspire and empower athletes from rural India to compete at the international level. Maharashtra winning the championship title for the fifth time in the history of these games is a testament to the immense talent emerging from the state’s rural regions.

Praising not just the athletes but also their coaches, mentors, and the families who stood firmly behind them, CM Fadnavis said their support has been invaluable. He concluded by extending his best wishes to all the athletes and teams for their future endeavors.
