Liquor Prohibited in Ujjain and 18 Other Religious Towns to Curb Substance Abuse: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended a spiritual discourse (satsang) by Sant Shri UmakantJi Maharaj at the Baba Jai Gurudev Ashram on Maksi Road during his visit to Ujjain. Dr. Yadav also met the saint and received his blessings.

The Chief Minister remarked that “Jai Gurudev – Naam Parmatma” is a divine phrase. With the blessings of sages and saints, life becomes truly blessed. Seeing saints offers the experience of encountering the divine. He emphasized the essential role of a Guru in dispelling ignorance and cultivating virtues. “A Guru not only removes inner vices but also builds character and instils patriotism,” he said.

Dr. Yadav said that liquor prohibition has been enforced in Ujjain municipal limits and 18 other religious towns across the state to protect families from the destructive impact of addiction, highlighting the government’s commitment to curbing substance abuse.

He further mentioned government initiatives to promote dairy farming, such as setting up government gaushalas (cow shelters) and providing subsidies. Dairy farmers rearing 25 cows will receive a 25% subsidy, and cow milk is now being officially procured. Madhya Pradesh currently contributes 9% of the country’s milk production, with plans to increase it to 20%, thus improving the incomes of farmers and livestock rearers.

Regarding the upcoming Simhastha 2028, Dr. Yadav announced that a permanent Simhastha zone is being developed to host continuous satsangs for the 12-year spiritual cycle. He also reiterated the state government’s decisions to impose life imprisonment for cow slaughter and ban open meat sales. During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with devotees at the Ashram.

Also present on the occasion were MLA Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, public representative Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and devotees in large numbers. The Satsang was attended with deep devotion by Dr. Yadav and all present.
