Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Holds Public Interaction in Basing Village
Villagers Delighted by a Shower of Developmental Gifts
Raipur : As part of the Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival), Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, held a public interaction (chaupal) today in the BSF camp premises at Basing village in Orchha block of Narayanpur district. Sitting under the shade of a neem tree on a traditional cot, the Chief Minister not only listened to villagers’ concerns but also won their hearts by announcing development schemes worth over ₹1 crore on the spot.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh accompanied him during the chaupal. The Chief Minister said that since April 8, he has been visiting various parts of the state under Sushasan Tihar to directly interact with people and understand the ground-level implementation of government schemes.
The villagers welcomed the Chief Minister with traditional headgear and decorative plumes. Young women trained at the local summer camp presented handmade flower bouquets. The Chief Minister honored meritorious students of Class 10 and encouraged a student who won a half-marathon. He reviewed the Mahtari Vandan Yojana and assured that no eligible woman would be left out of the scheme. Beneficiaries like Smt. Maheshwari Dugga and Smt. Mankay expressed their gratitude by sharing how the scheme had benefitted them.
Speaking on the Naxal issue, CM Sai reiterated that with the cooperation of people in the Abujhmad region, the national goal of eradicating Naxalism will be fulfilled by March 2026. He praised the state’s Naxalite surrender and rehabilitation policy as the best in the country.
On this occasion, he handed over house keys, cheques, and cash aid under schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, MGNREGA, Noni Empowerment, and the Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana. A wheelchair was also presented to a differently-abled beneficiary.
Responding to villagers’ demands, the Chief Minister made the following announcements:
- ₹20 lakh for culvert construction in Murhapadar
- ₹20 lakh for a playground and repairs to the boys’ hostel/school in Basing
- ₹24 lakh for Anganwadi buildings in Murhapadar and Aehnar
- ₹25 lakh for a CC road from the market to the colony in Basing
- ₹15 lakh for new Gotul (traditional youth dormitories) in Kundla, Basing, and Murhapadar
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 250-seater hostel building constructed by the Tribal Development Department at a cost of ₹8 crore in Orchha, along with water supply and electrification facilities.
