Chief Minister Meets Union Civil Aviation Minister
Aizawl : While in Delhi, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met Union Civil Aviation Minister Pu Ram Mohan Naidu today and discussed various measures for the development of Mizoram’s aviation sector.
The Chief Minister requested the establishment of a new airport in the southern region of Mizoram. The discussion also covered the current status of Lengpui Airport under the Airports Authority of India (AAI), as well as plans to set up heliports under the PM-UDAN scheme.
The Union Minister responded positively, indicating that preliminary steps would be taken to explore the feasibility of building a new airport in southern Mizoram. He also directed AAI officials to formally present an offer to the Government of Mizoram regarding the future operations and development of Lengpui Airport. The state government will carefully review and consider this offer.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by MP Pu Richard Vanlalhmangaiha, Chief Secretary Pu Khilli Ram Meena, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, and OSD to the Chief Minister.
