State Government to Celebrate Ahilyabai Holkar’s 300th Birth Anniversary with Major Initiatives for Women Empowerment

Funds to be Transferred to Women and Girls under Various Schemes, Inauguration and Foundation Laying of Development Projects

Jaipur : The Rajasthan state government is set to organize a series of women-centric programs to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar. A special event dedicated to women’s empowerment will be held on May 31 at the R.I.C. Auditorium, where Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, will be present.

During a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday, Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma issued directives for the upcoming celebration. He highlighted that Ahilyabai Holkar had reconstructed the Somnath and Kashi Vishwanath temples, restoring two of Lord Shiva’s principal Jyotirlingas. Inspired by her work in promoting women’s education and empowerment, the state government is also running several welfare schemes aimed at strengthening the status of women, who constitute half of the population.

Key Announcements and Benefits:

  • 150 Kalika Units will be flagged off during the celebration.
  • Under the Ladli Incentive Scheme, 32,755 girls will receive direct monetary transfers.
  • 16,944 girls will receive pre-matric scholarships under the ST category.
  • 152 girls will benefit from the sanitation workers’ pre-matric scholarship.
  • 30,000 students will be reimbursed for fees under the Girls’ Distance Education Scheme.

Additionally:

  • Financial transfers under the Girls’ Education Incentive Scheme will take place.
  • 1,800 women will receive loans under the Lakhpati Didi Loan Scheme.
  • 6,489 girls will be awarded the Gargi Award.
  • 2,000 meritorious students will receive scooters under the Kalibai Bheel Meritorious Girl Student Scooty Scheme.

New Initiatives to be Launched:

  • Facilities under the Garbha ki Pathshala (Womb School) Scheme, Swasth Nari Chetna Abhiyan, and the Gestational Diabetes Management Program will be inaugurated in 10 districts during the first phase.
  • A digital coffee table book on the National Tobacco Control Program will be released.
  • To promote girls’ education, 4 Kasturba Gandhi Girls’ Schools, 2 Tribal Girls’ Ashram Hostels, and several civil works will also be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.
