Revanth Reddy Hits Out at Modi’s Ceasefire, Says Rahul Gandhi Best Fit for PM
Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the recent ceasefire decision with Pakistan, alleging that it was taken without consulting opposition parties. Speaking during the Congress’s Jai Hind Yatra in Nizampet, Reddy questioned why no all-party meeting was held before announcing the ceasefire, especially when such a meeting had been called prior to the military strikes.
“Why was no all-party meeting called before declaring a ceasefire? Why weren’t the opinions of all political parties considered?” Reddy asked. He claimed that if Rahul Gandhi had been the Prime Minister, India would have reclaimed Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
In a sharp attack, Reddy described PM Modi as an “expired rupee,” comparing him to a demonetized ₹1000 note. “This country needs Rahul Gandhi’s leadership today. If he were Prime Minister, he would take inspiration from former PM Indira Gandhi and act with determination to split Pakistan and take back PoK,” Reddy said.
He praised Indira Gandhi’s leadership during the 1971 war, which led to the formation of Bangladesh, and her firm stance against both Pakistan and China. Drawing parallels, Reddy said, “Indira Gandhi’s grandson, Rahul Gandhi, should be the Prime Minister. He would defeat Pakistan on one side and China on the other, restoring India’s pride.”
An official statement from the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office said that both Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had participated in the earlier all-party meeting and expressed full support to the Centre in its stand against Pakistan. They reportedly made it clear that PoK should be integrated into India.
Reddy also criticized the Modi government for allegedly ending the military operations at the behest of former U.S. President Donald Trump. “I’ve already stated my support for splitting Pakistan into two. But Modi’s government called off the operations under Trump’s pressure,” he claimed.
The Chief Minister further alleged that Pakistan had downed Rafale fighter jets acquired by India during Modi’s tenure and demanded answers. “How many Rafale jets were brought down by Pakistan? Why is there no discussion? You bought expensive jets, awarded massive contracts to close associates, and now they’re destroyed—who is responsible?” he questioned.
Revanth Reddy also reiterated the Congress party’s long legacy of sacrifice, saying the Gandhi family had always put the country first. Calling Modi a spent force, he urged Congress workers not to rest until Rahul Gandhi became the next Prime Minister.
He concluded by slamming the BJP’s recent Tiranga Rally, claiming it had demoralized Indian soldiers. “Our Jai Hind Yatra is meant to restore the self-confidence of our armed forces, which has been shaken by the BJP’s actions,” he added.
