Agriculture & Horticulture Secretary Rajan Vishal Visits Tonk; Emphasizes Crop Payments to Farmers via e-NAM

Jaipur : Secretary of Agriculture and Horticulture, Mr. Rajan Vishal, conducted an inspection tour of various agricultural facilities in Tonk, including the Agri Produce Market Committee at Nivai (Agro Trade Tower), Incubation Center in Sohel, Mini Food Park in Sonwa, and the Center of Excellence (COE) at Devdawas.

During the inspection, he directed the officers of the Agricultural Marketing Department to ensure that all laborers and porters in the Nivai market are insured under the Mission Jeevan Suraksha scheme. He also instructed the Executive Engineer of the Agricultural Marketing Board to designate parking spaces for each shop in the Agro Trade Tower.

Mr. Vishal interacted with traders and encouraged them to make crop payments to farmers through the e-NAM (National Agricultural Market) platform. He also urged them to consider renting shops in the Agro Trade Park.

At the Sohel Sub-yard, he expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of work on the CC flooring of the auction platform and the finishing of the pillars. He instructed the Chief Engineer to immediately rectify the work as per set standards and to issue a chargesheet to the site engineer.

Several shortcomings were also found in the construction work carried out by the Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation (RSWC) at the Sonwa Food Park. Issues included settlement in the CC block roads, improper alignment of tile joints in flooring, and poor finishing in plaster and paintwork—despite the fact that a year had passed since the handover. The Assistant Engineer of the RSWC failed to provide a satisfactory explanation, leading to an order for a chargesheet against him.

During the inspection of the Center of Excellence (COE), instructions were issued to repair the damaged netting at Rajhans Nursery, clear soil and debris from the water harvesting center, fix the broken pipeline, and restore the malfunctioning automated weather machine and solar lighting system.
