Education Plays a Crucial Role in Women’s Empowerment : CM Devendra Fadnavis

RBL Distributes Bicycles and School Supplies to Girl Students

Nagpur – Education plays a pivotal role in women’s empowerment, and the state government is implementing several schemes to encourage girls’ education, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at an event held today. He praised the initiative by RBL Bank under its “Umeed” CSR program to distribute bicycles and school supplies to underprivileged girl students.

The Chief Minister personally distributed bicycles and educational materials to the girls as part of RBL’s corporate social responsibility initiative “Umeed.” Additionally, the Dhanvantari Health Camp was inaugurated during the event.

MLAs Sandeep Joshi and Praveen Datke, RBL’s Treasurer Ashok Chandak, and other board members were present. A total of 100 bicycles were distributed to students at the event held in the Manish Nagar area.

CM Fadnavis said that one of the major hurdles in girls’ education is the long commute to school. The bicycles provided by RBL would ease their daily travel and help improve attendance, especially aiding girls in rural areas to enhance their academic performance.

He lauded RBL for being sensitive to the educational needs of marginalized and underprivileged girl students, calling the initiative commendable. Highlighting RBL’s yearly CSR efforts, he said the Dhanvantari Health Camp offers free eye checkups, distribution of spectacles, and other medical tests, which will certainly contribute to the girls’ overall well-being.

The Chief Minister fondly recalled a recent bicycle distribution event held in the remote village of Kawande in the Gadchiroli district. He said the happiness on the girls’ faces during that program was deeply satisfying. Initiatives like these will help girls who are deprived of modern facilities and tools to pursue their dreams of higher education.

Fadnavis expressed hope that RBL would continue organizing such noble initiatives in the future.

During the introductory remarks, RBL Treasurer Anshul Chandak announced that 1,800 bicycles would be distributed this year, following the 4,800 distributed the previous year. He also shared details of various social responsibility projects undertaken by the bank. The event witnessed a large turnout from the local community.
