Red Alert Issued for Ratnagiri and Raigad Districts for Next 24 Hours

Ratnagiri Records 88.1 mm Rainfall

Mumbai – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Ratnagiri and Raigad districts for the next 24 hours. Orange alerts have also been issued for Palghar, Thane, Pune Ghat areas, Satara Ghat, Kolhapur Ghat, and Sindhudurg districts. Both the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been instructed to remain on high alert and prepared for emergency situations by the administration.

According to the State Emergency Operations Center, the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours (as of the morning of June 15) was recorded in Ratnagiri at 88.1 mm, followed by Raigad at 65.3 mm, Sindhudurg at 53.8 mm, Thane at 29.6 mm, and Yavatmal at 17.5 mm.

In other updates, three persons from Wani in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra died in a helicopter crash that occurred today, June 15, at 5:45 AM near Gaurikund-Rikund in Uttarakhand.

In Bhiwandi, Thane (Rural), a chemical warehouse fire in Dapoda village led to one fatality, although the situation has since been brought under control.

In Nagpur’s Jai Kamal Complex, a fire incident resulted in two deaths and one injury.

At Khed, the Jagbudi River has reached a water level of 5.9 meters, surpassing the alert level of 5 meters. The danger level is marked at 7 meters.

Due to strong winds in Mumbai district, one person was injured.
Lightning strikes caused multiple casualties across the state:

• Sindhudurg: One person injured
• Dhule: One person dead
• Nashik: One person and two animals dead, two others injured
• Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Four persons and five animals dead, five persons injured
• Nandurbar: One person dead, one injured
• Amravati: One death reported due to lightning strike

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and are coordinating with disaster response teams across the affected regions.
