As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Government of India has set a national goal to build a Developed India – Bharat@2047. Maharashtra aims to contribute to this by growing its economy to $1 trillion by 2029 and $5 trillion by 2047. To help achieve this ambitious goal, the state government has decided to create a vision blueprint titled ‘Viksit Maharashtra 2047’. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a 150-day programme, running from May 6 to October 2, 2025, to lay the groundwork for this future.

The creation of this Vision Document is a key component of the programme. Departments have been instructed to set long-term, medium-term, and short-term goals. Sixteen sectoral focus groups have been formed based on key development themes including:

  • Agriculture,
  • Education,
  • Health,
  • Rural Development,
  • Urban Development,
  • Land Resources,
  • Water Resources,
  • Infrastructure,
  • Finance,
  • Industry,
  • Services,
  • Social Development,
  • Security,
  • Soft Power,
  • Technology and Human Development, and
  • Human Resource Management.

These groups are tasked with creating a development plan focused on being progressive, sustainable, inclusive, and rooted in good governance. The draft document will be developed in consultation with experts, and government and non-government organizations working within each sector.

To ensure the vision reflects the voices of the people, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the citizen survey campaign on June 17, 2025. He has directed Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors, Zilla Parishad CEOs, and local government officials to prominently display banners encouraging citizens to participate.

Citizens can scan the QR code to express their opinions and actively contribute to shaping the future of Maharashtra. The survey guarantees data privacy, with no personal details being recorded from participants.Tools
