Water Supply Minister Inaugurates ₹9.47 Crore Faecal Sewage Treatment Plant in Tonk
Urges Public to Conserve Water and Environment through ‘Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan’
Jaipur : In Malpura subdivision of Tonk district, Water Supply Minister Shri Kanhaiyalal Chaudhary on Wednesday launched a campaign under the ‘Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan Jan Abhiyan’ by offering prayers at the ancient Brahma Talab near Chatreshwar Mahadev Temple. On the temple premises, he administered an oath of environment and water conservation to officials, employees, and villagers.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Chaudhary called for efforts towards reviving water structures, planting trees for environmental protection, reducing water pollution, spreading awareness about environmental responsibility, and promoting groundwater recharge. He also announced development works worth ₹50 crore for Bam Talab. Additionally, he listened to public grievances and instructed officials to take prompt action on resolving them.
The Minister also inaugurated a faecal sewage treatment plant located at Ghati Road in the city, constructed at a cost of ₹9.47 crore. The plant, built under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, will convert human waste sludge into fertilizer. The plant’s operations have been assigned to MVR Technology Company from Andhra Pradesh for a period of 10 years.
As part of the program, residential land allotment documents were also distributed to nomadic families by the municipality.
