Ajit Pawar Urges Vigilance Post-Earthquake in Marathwada, Vidarbha.
Mumbai : Tremors were felt in parts of Marathwada and Vidarbha, including Hingoli, Parbhani, Nanded, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Beed, and Washim districts, at 7:14 AM on Wednesday. The earthquake measured 4.5 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter near Rameshwar Tanda village in Kalamnuri taluka of Hingoli district. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed the Assembly today that there have been no reports of casualties or property damage due to the mild earthquake.
Making a statement on behalf of the state government in the Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the state government has taken serious note of the earthquake in some districts of Marathwada and Vidarbha. Instructions have been given to the respective district collectors, sub-divisional officers, tehsildars, and all administrative machinery to remain alert and provide necessary assistance to the citizens immediately. He urged citizens not to panic but to remain vigilant and implement precautionary measures. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar appealed to residents to remove stones kept on roofs for support in villages with sheet roofs. The state government is in contact with the district collectors of the affected districts, and local administration is being consulted for further information regarding the earthquake and any potential damage.
