Netanyahu Slams Iran for Missile Strike on Israeli Hospital

Israeli PM condemns attack on Soroka Hospital as “barbaric assault on civilians,” vows full retaliation against Tehran’s regime

Tel Aviv : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly condemned Iran after a ballistic missile struck Soroka Hospital in Beersheba on Thursday, injuring several patients, medical staff, and civilians. The Israeli leader called the attack a “barbaric assault on civilians” and vowed that Iran’s regime would “pay a full price” for targeting innocent lives.

During a visit to the hospital alongside Health Minister, Deputy Minister Almog Cohen, and hospital officials, Netanyahu drew a sharp contrast between Israel’s military precision and Iran’s indiscriminate targeting of civilian infrastructure.

“We are conducting pinpoint strikes on Iran’s nuclear and missile installations. In contrast, they are attacking a hospital — a place where people cannot even get up and run,” Netanyahu said in a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office. “The children’s ward was dangerously close to the impact site. This shows the stark difference between a democracy and terrorists.”

Netanyahu asserted that while Israel operates within the boundaries of international law to defend itself, Iran’s leadership is deliberately aiming to harm civilians. “They seek to destroy everyone. This incident tells you everything about who we are dealing with,” he added.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar also issued a sharp rebuke to Iranian Foreign Minister Saeed Abbas Araghchi, who claimed that the strike targeted an Israeli military command and intelligence center. Araghchi stated that the nearby Soroka facility suffered only minor damage and was primarily used to treat military personnel involved in operations in Gaza.

In response, Saar wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “I was at Soroka Hospital with international journalists. They saw the truth with their own eyes — Iran fired a missile at a civilian hospital treating Jews, Muslims, and Christians. No fake maps or false claims can hide this barbarism.”

Saar accused Iran of attempting to manipulate the narrative while committing blatant war crimes. He emphasized that Soroka is not a military facility but a public hospital offering treatment to all, regardless of religion or nationality.

Iran, however, maintained that its missile targeted an Israeli military command center and claimed that only “superficial damage” was caused to an adjacent area. Iran’s foreign ministry further accused Israel of hypocrisy, pointing to the damage caused by Israeli strikes in Gaza, where they alleged 94 percent of Palestinian hospitals have been destroyed or disabled.

Following the attack, Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s resolve. “The terrorist dictators in Tehran launched a missile strike on Soroka Hospital and on civilian areas in central Israel. We will ensure that those responsible pay the full price,” he declared on X.

The strike has intensified an already volatile conflict between Israel and Iran, with military engagements continuing for a seventh consecutive day. While Israel insists its operations are focused solely on disabling Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, Thursday’s hospital attack is likely to escalate global concern and international condemnation.

As regional tensions soar, the Israeli government is working to reassure its citizens while preparing for potential further escalations in the conflict.
