Chief Minister Sends Message “Yoga in Every Home, Wellness for All” from Bhararisain

On Saturday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami delivered the message of “Har Ghar Yoga, Har Jan Nirog” from Bhararisain, Gairsain, marking the 11th International Yoga Day. At the state assembly complex, he officially launched Uttarakhand’s first Yoga Policy. The event began with conch blowing and Vedic chants, followed by a group yoga session featuring Padma Shri Yoga Guru Swami Bharat Bhushan and delegates from eight countries.

To commemorate the launch, CM Dhami released a booklet based on the policy, planted an apple sapling under the “Ek Vriksh, Yoga Ke Naam” initiative, and announced the government’s plan to create a Spiritual Economic Zone in both the Garhwal and Kumaon regions. These zones, centered on yoga, Ayurveda, natural therapies, and spirituality, will attract global wellness groups, spiritual leaders, and institutions.

Vision for Yoga & Wellness Hub

CM Dhami described Bhararisain as a center of rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, making it a fitting venue to propel Uttarakhand as the global capital of yoga and wellness. He highlighted that the Yoga Policy 2025 will incentivize yoga and meditation centers with subsidies up to ₹20 lakh, and research grants in natural therapy of up to ₹10 lakh. His target is to establish five new Yoga Hubs by 2030, and ensure yoga services are available in all AYUSH Health & Wellness Centres by March 2026.

Harmony of Mind, Body & Earth

Emphasizing the transformative power of yoga, Dhami said it promotes physical health, inner peace, mental balance, and spiritual stability. He spoke of yoga’s ability to reduce stress, enhance focus, and foster positive energy. Moreover, he underscored yoga’s role in unifying diverse communities across religious, cultural, and geographical boundaries, calling it a bridge of global harmony and collective health.

Addressing Youth and Local Economy

The CM reaffirmed his government’s commitment, under PM Modi’s leadership, to create employment and address migration by fostering local economies and tourism. He announced the formation of a Strategic Advisory Committee to drive innovation and self-employment in the mountainous regions, ensuring youth can find work without leaving home.

Earlier in the day, CM Dhami met with students and local residents in Bhararisain, engaging in dialogue and encouraging them to integrate yoga into their daily routine. His presence generated significant enthusiasm.

Diplomats present included ambassadors and high commissioners from Mexico, Fiji, Nepal, Suriname, Mongolia, Latvia, Sri Lanka, and Russia, alongside local officials like MLA Anil Nautiyal, SDMA Vice Chair Dr Vinay Ruhela, Secretary Deependra Chaudhary, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, DG Information Banshidhar Tiwari, Chamoli DM Sandeep Tiwari, and SP Sarvesh Panwar.

Through this event, Chief Minister Dhami reinforced Uttarakhand’s drive to become a global center for yoga, wellness, spiritual tourism, and cultural heritage, aligning with the state’s natural beauty and spiritual ethos.
