Yogi govt’s education push: Construction of CM Composite Schools begins in 39 UP districts

Lucknow : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has launched a major initiative to modernize and make its education system more inclusive. As part of this effort, construction work for ‘Chief Minister Composite Schools’ has begun in 39 districts across the state. These model schools are set to provide lakhs of children with access to modern, holistic, and high-quality education.

In addition to the ongoing work, construction is expected to begin shortly in 10 more districts. For the remaining districts, financial approvals and land selection processes are in their final stages at the government level.

The state government has made it clear that such model schools will be established in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. In the first phase, one CM Composite School is being constructed in each district. Once completed, a second school per district is planned for the next phase, taking the total to two composite schools per district.

Currently, all necessary approvals—including financial sanctions and land allocation—have been obtained for the 39 districts where construction is either underway, or about to begin.

One of the most unique features of these CM Composite Schools is that they will offer all classes from pre-primary to 12th grade within a single campus. These modern schools are being built on 5 to 10 acres of land, with each costing around Rs 30 crore. They are expected to set a new benchmark in the state’s education system. To speed up construction, the government has assigned the work to six major construction agencies.

These schools will focus not only on quality education but also on skill development, sports, facilities, and student safety. Each school will have 30 smart classrooms, a digital library, computer lab, modern science labs, a mini stadium, and a large playground. Additionally, there will be skill development centers, workshops, teacher housing, CCTV surveillance, Wi-Fi, clean drinking water, and proper toilets.

The schools are currently being built or planned in districts including Sitapur, Bijnor, Kanpur Dehat, Maharajganj, Ambedkarnagar, Bulandshahr, Kheri, Ballia, Sultanpur, Hamirpur, Raebareli, Auraiya, Amethi, Hardoi, Amroha, Chitrakoot, Lalitpur, Jalaun, Chandauli, Firozabad, Shravasti, Etawah, Mainpuri, Hapur, Kaushambi, Mau, Ghaziabad, Shahjahanpur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Sambhal, Ghazipur, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Hathras, Badaun, Bahraich, Bhadohi, and Baghpat.
